Get Cozy with Burgundy

Hello there, happy Tuesday! Hope you had a good Columbus Day yesterday. In my last fashion post, I showcased 5 different styles with mustard yellow. Today, I will be sharing another color that is absolutely great for the Fall. It’s rich, deep and regal- and it’s burgundy!

Red has always been a classic, timeless color which can be worn during any season or occasion. Burgundy on the other hand, is like red’s older sister and is more mysterious with its own sophistication and strong personality.

In this post, I’m wearing a wool blend sweater from Ella Moss. I love the simplicity of this sweater with its pleated raglan bishop sleeves. The wide “V” neck allows you to wear it as-is, or you can pull one side off the shoulder to create a different look. Also, “V” necks usually give the illusion of a longer neck, which to me makes everything look more feminine and elegant.

If you’re going for a more monochromatic look, Burgundy is a fantastic choice. It has so many shades that you can pair it with within its own family color palette. Or other colors such as black, deep plum, or even mustard yellow- will work as well because they are all earthy colors.

I paired my burgundy with a pair of deep plum colored leggings by Sanctuary ( they only have black left on the web, but similar here, here), high thigh lace-up boots from Guess (old, similar here, here) and a fringe bag by Deux Lux (old, similar here, here). Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and sparked the burgundy in you!

P.S. Do you know the difference between burgundy and maroon? If not, I googled it for you:

Burgundy: a deep red with purple undertone.
Maroon: a deep red with brown undertone.
