Holiday Party Ready In Green Printed Dress

Happy Wednesday!!! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving last week. Every year around this time, I am more relaxed and super laid-back. I guess it must be the holiday season that puts me in the mood to just bum around and eat left overs from Thanksgiving. Haha…yes, that’s what I did for the past few days!

With the holiday season upon us, invitations to different holiday parties are starting to stack up on my desk. This means it’s time for me to plan my dress-up looks, which is super fun to me!

In this post, I’m wearing this printed green chiffon dress ( similar here, and here) that I just bought last week. It’s funny how sometimes you end up buying something you really like when you least expect it. I was just strolling in the mall with my little one when I saw this dress in ANGL store display. And it was love at first sight…!

I’m not sure how you buy printed clothing, but for me, I have to try a few on to decide which one to buy. The reason I do this is because printed fabric runs in yardage continuously, so depending on how the pattern is laid during production, the same printed clothing can look very different from one to the other.

Ideally, you want to try on one or two of the same style to see where the pattern falls on your body. For example, if a bright section of the pattern falls on one side of your hip, it could make that side of your hip appear larger than the other side.

Now to complete this look, I put on a wide gold belt from Bebe instead of using the self fabric tie belt that came with the dress. The wide belt helps to define the waist and gives a quick separation between the upper and lower body.

To minimize distraction away from the dress, I wore a pair of clear strap sandals from Bebe (old, similar here, here, and here) which also provides the illusion of longer legs!

Let me know in the comments your thoughts or any questions. Or, what do you do when you buy printed clothing? Hope you like this look!

Always with LOVE,
