Timeless Look: Victorian Lace Top & Pencil Skirt

Growing up, I always loved going through my mom’s wardrobe and trying on her clothing, wishing to be just like her. My mom is definitely one of those women who never tried any other styles except the classic look. She had bangs as long as I can remember, and her style pretty much can be summed up in one word “Timeless”. I guess that’s the beauty of classic style, right?!

I always like to collect pieces throughout the year that I know will never go out of style or become yesterday’s thing. Since last year, Victorian inspired designs started popping up here and there, but I think it wasn’t until this Fall did this romantic Victorian vibe have more of a presence in the market.

In this post, I’m wearing this beautiful feminine lace top from H&M (similar here, and here). I bought it a couple months ago and now it’s on sale, so grab your size before it’s gone. Did I mention that I’m a huge fan of this top? I love everything about it, especially the ruffled stand-up collar!

I paired this top with a pencil skirt to achieve the classic elegant look I was going for. When choosing a pencil skirt, I usually prefer fabric that has a bit of stretch, and a slightly tapered bottom. This creates that hour glass feminine look, while still allowing you to move without feeling too restricted. The pencil skirt I’m wearing is old but here are 2 other options you might like (here, and here).

I like classy looks, but I usually like to spice it up a little with accessories to give it a more modern feel. Here I put on a wide corset belt from Bebe (old, some options here, here, and here). However, this outfit looks beautiful as-is, so if you aren’t a belt person like me, feel free to go without it.

And for shoes, a pair of classic pumps fits perfectly here. I chose to wear white lace pumps from Betsey Johnson (old, similar here, and here) to keep the bottom light, and to match the lace top. But you can totally finish the look in a pair of classic black pumps as well.

I love this whole outfit because it’s such a timeless look. Whether for a date night, function, or event – you can pretty much wear it for any occasion.

Let me know how you like this look in the comments below. I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for reading!

Always with LOVE,
